Une ONG alerte à Genève sur le recrutement de mercenaires pour le Sahel au sein du Polisario
Corcas- L’ONG Forum africain pour la recherche et les études sur les droits de l’homme (AFORES) a mis en garde à Genève contre les activités des membres du Polisario qui sont recrutés par des groupes armés et djihadistes en tant que mercenaires opérant dans la région sahélo-saharienne.
Lors d’un dialogue interactif avec le Groupe de travail sur les mercenaires organisé, mercredi, dans le cadre de la 48ème session du Conseil des droits de l’homme (CDH), le président d’AFORES, Zine El Abidine El Ouali, a pointé du doigt la connexion entre le Polisario et les groupes armés et djihadistes écumant la région du Sahel, notant que «l’envoi de mercenaires par le Polisario et les services algériens a été une nouvelle fois illustré avec la neutralisation par l’armée française au Mali du terroriste connu sous le nom de Adnane Abou al Walid, qui a été formé aux côtés de plusieurs autres jeunes aux camps de Tindouf par les sécuritaires algériens avant de les envoyer au nord du Mali pour servir leurs plans macabres dans cette région déjà instable».
Il a rappelé dans ce sens «les cas des jeunes des camps de Tindouf qui ont été enrôlés au sein de milices armées par le Polisario et les services de sécurité algériens puis envoyés contre leur gré pour combattre en tant que mercenaires auprès du régime de Kadhafi pour perpétrer des violations graves des droits humains lors de la révolution libyenne avant d’être réaffectés par leurs commanditaires dans la zone sahélo-saharienne, où ils ont poursuivi leurs crimes atroces contre les populations civiles en se livrant à l’épuration ethnique, aux enlèvements et aux attaques terroristes sanglantes contre les populations locales et les casques bleus de l’ONU».
Au cours de différentes activités organisées dans le cadre de cette session du CDH, plusieurs organisations ont attiré l’attention sur les multiples et graves violations commises par les milices armées du Polisario, en connivence avec les services de sécurité algériens, à l’encontre des populations des camps de Tindouf.
Ils ont notamment dénoncé le recrutement des enfants soldats par les milices des séparatistes, les cas d’enlèvement des opposants à la direction du Polisario, les pratiques de tortures dans les geôles, et le détournement de l’aide humanitaire, soulignant l’entière responsabilité de l’Algérie dans ces crimes.
Sahrawi NGO Condemns in Geneva Enforced Disappearances in Tindouf Camps
The president of the Sahrawi association against impunity in the Tindouf camps, Lemaadla Mohamed Salem El-Koury, slammed, on Tuesday in Geneva, the enforced disappearances and the violations committed by the Polisario in the said camps, stressing the full responsibility of the Algerian state in all these crimes perpetrated on its territory.
Speaking during the interactive dialogue with the working group on enforced and involuntary disappearances within the framework of the 48th session of the Human Rights Council, El Koury, herself daughter of one of the victims of the enforced disappearance in the Tindouf camps in southern Algeria, denounced the impunity enjoyed by the torturers and the perpetrators of serious human rights violations and acts of kidnapping in the Polisario camps.
She said that her association has so far identified 134 cases of missing persons among the hundreds of Saharawis who were kidnapped and tortured to death by the leaders of the Polisario in close cooperation with the Algerian intelligence services in secret detention centers, in particular in the prisons of Errachid and Dhaybiya near the Tindouf camps.
“Despite our efforts to reveal the fate of our relatives, including through recourse to international mechanisms, the Algerian State, which bears responsibility for crimes committed on its territory in accordance with international law and the treaties it has signed, still refuses to deal with this case and deprives the families of the victims of any recourse to justice,” she noted.
This attitude of the Algerian authorities, she pointed out, thus offers the torturers in the Tindouf camps absolute protection against any legal proceedings, while encouraging them to persist in the practices of kidnapping, enforced disappearance and repression of the right to freedom of opinion, expression and demonstration against the serious violence committed by the Algerian army and the militias of the separatists against the populations of the said camps.
She urged the UN Working Group to “pay the necessary attention to the issue of the disappearance of our relatives in the Tindouf camps”, and to put pressure on the Algerian government to “unveil the fate of the missing persons, and recover the remains of those who died to offer them a dignified burial.”
